How do we feel the feeling of art?

I believe we feel art. We feel that we have something to create and offer it, and that’s how creativity begins. Our heart and soul feel that it has something to write, draw, sing, dance, and this way, our art gets out in the world. Art is a creative feeling. It’s different from our biological feelings; happiness or sadness, etc. When we feel art, it gives us a message, an indication, a clue, a call of creation. Art comes from the deeper level of ourselves.

Art is not something that we plan, it is something that emerges unexpectedly. It is important to explain that here I am talking about original creative art, not about “prepared art” that we do or make under specific guidelines and set of rules from a higher authority. In prepared art, we write, dance, or sing according to a given procedure. Original art is what we create by ourselves without any instructions or guidelines from someone.

We feel art in many ways, sometimes during taking a bath, sometimes while running, sometimes during our sleep. The way art asks us to participate with it is by giving us a feeling of longing towards it. Art plays with our imagination. We feel that something inside us wants to get out. We answer our feeling of art. The art gets born and something gets visible, on paper, on stage, on canvas. Regardless of what type of art we make, before we do it, we feel it.
