How faith can save us when we are afraid?

I believe it’s natural and normal, and it’s fine and okay to be afraid and experience fear when we are in a dangerous situation and have no control over the outcome. And being afraid is not a bad thing, it’s a human thing. However, I believe we should be very careful when we experience fear because the choices we make when we are afraid matter and affect us deeply. We can get depressed and lose hope completely or we can accept what’s going on and believe that we can come out of the danger if we take action and protect ourselves. It all depends on what we choose and the decisions we make.

Fear is an indicator, a question, an alarm that tells us that there’s something terrifying and harmful and we should do something to secure and save ourselves. On the other hand, faith is the answer, the only choice that we should make when we are facing fear. Faith is not a blind trust that everything is gonna be alright automatically and we should not get worried, faith is the name of accepting the hard and uncomfortable situation and then working to overcome the danger, it’s a belief in our ability to go through the darkness by moving forward and doing what can make our condition better.

Fear says: I am in danger and my life is going to end. Faith says: I can overcome the danger and go through it if I do what’s needed for my protection and survival, and I will take action to save myself. So whenever we find ourselves in danger and fearful thoughts come into our mind, our duty is to ask ourselves: What my fear is trying to tell me? What action I can take to protect myself from the danger? The answers to our questions will lead us towards faith, towards possibilities, which means on the journey towards the light.

When we are afraid, the only thing we should choose is faith.
