How does Authenticity look Like?
To show the reality, to reveal how are we feeling is “authenticity”.
I really love people who choose to be authentic when they talk to me so a couple of days ago when I met with a friend after a long time, I asked him how are you feeling? He shared the following things with me.
“I am doing things in the wrong way, making a lot of mistakes, wasting my time because I hate my job and I love music that is my passion but currently, music is not my profession so it’s really difficult and stressful for me to keep doing my job. I do my job just for money because I need to support my family. But I hate my job, I want to leave it and I want to work on music only. I know that things take time and to make my music my profession I need to keep working. And I am working and making progress on music. But it’s becoming really really difficult for me to keep working on my job, I am hating myself now. What should I do? How I can go far from my job? I hate myself now. I am depressed and feeling really worried because I don’t know how much money I will make through my job this month, I am not performing well and my boss is also not satisfied with my work attitude. I feel destruction in me, I hate me. You should also hate me. You should hate me because I am really a bad person. No one, but I am my own enemy now. I really need help and I know only me can help my own self but I am not doing it. I am feeling like a dead person who can do nothing.”
His response to my question was a face of pure authenticity, he selected authenticity instead of saying I am well or everything is going fine. And I was inspired by him because he was trusting me, he was revealing his true self in front of me. My friend was crying, his tears of sadness were absolutely deep, we were walking and I was thinking that this is how authenticity looks like…
